This is the ultimate true wilderness experience and will appeal to those clients who want to get away from it all. Big Bay is on the West Coast about 15 minutes flying time north of Milford Sound. It is a huge bay of golden sand and large breakers, ideal for surfing. We can land on the beach at low tide. The only access to Big Bay is either by air, sea or a four day walk. Big Bay only comes alive during whitebating season, when the few huts are occupied. The rest of the time there is only the occasional tramper or hunter passing through.

West Coast River Safari

West Coast Safari

Fly to the Waiatoto for the River Safaris jetboat. The flight is over the glaciers and by magnificent Mount Aspiring. We can either return to Queenstown or Glenorchy direct after the two hour jetboat ride, or continue down the West Coast over Jacksons Bay, Big Bay and Martins Bay to Milford Sound before returning to Queenstown or Glenorchy.
